Client portal live in a day, and the permissions were right

The data was already in Airtable. I had a branded portal with per-client access working before lunch on day two, and the user groups behaved exactly as documented, which is not something I say often. For consultancy work where the portal is a deliverable rather than the product, this is the fastest honest answer.

The permission rules earned the price for this one client

A client needed each of their customers to see a different subset of the same records with different edit rights per field. Softr could not express it, Stacker could, in an afternoon. That is a narrow reason to buy a tool and it was the right reason here. For a simpler portal I would not pay this.

Template gallery is the bigger gap for me. Lovable has a starting point for almost anything, here you are usually beginning from a blank data model.
