Head to head

Nordcraft vs WeWeb (2026)

WeWeb takes the overall rating, but this pairing is decided on axes rather than totals: Nordcraft leads 4 of the ten, WeWeb leads 6.

Nordcraft

An open-source visual builder with opinions about the web platform

3.9out of 5

The most principled tool in the index and one of the smallest. Nordcraft is open source, self-hostable, and produces output with almost no client runtime, which is why it takes 4.6 on speed and 4.4 on SEO, both near the top. Code ownership at 4.5 is honest rather than marketing. The trade is community size and AI capability: documentation is thin, the assistant is the weakest thing here at 2.9, and you will be solving problems alone. Superb value if that suits you.

WeWeb

A front-end builder for people who already have a backend and standards

4.1out of 5

The professional choice in this bracket. WeWeb takes 4.4 on integrations and 4.1 on SEO because it treats a web application as something that has to be fast, indexable and connected to real data, which is not the norm here. The AI assistance is deliberately minor, so if you were hoping to describe an app and receive one, this is the wrong tool. Paired with Xano or Supabase it produces work an agency can hand over without embarrassment.

Axis by axis

The leader on each axis is set in bold. The weight column is what that axis contributes to the overall rating, so a win on reliability counts for more than five times a win on code ownership.

Which one should you choose

Pick Nordcraft if your project looks like developers who want visual building without accepting a proprietary runtime or lock-in. Its strongest axes in this pairing are seo and geo, speed, value. Avoid it for non-technical buyers, and anyone who needs a large community to lean on.

Pick WeWeb if your project looks like agencies and product teams building a real front end over xano, supabase or an existing api. Its strongest axes here are reliability, integrations, design quality. Avoid it for solo founders who want the backend built for them from a prompt.

And the dissenting notes, which we publish rather than average away: on Nordcraft, One panellist argued the reliability mark is generous given how small the maintainer team is, and that a single-vendor open-source project carries a different risk profile than the score implies. On WeWeb, One panellist wanted a higher value score, noting agencies bill the build anyway. The mark accounts for the fact that a working product needs a second paid tool underneath.
